What we process, why, and for how long
| Situation | Information | Purpose and legal basis | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| You visit this website | Technical connection data: IP address, requested page, date and time, browser details. | Delivering and securing the website. Legitimate interest. | Kept in the server logs of our hosting provider, Cloudflare. Cloudflare does not publish a fixed retention period for these logs; it sets it under its own policy. We do not use this data ourselves. |
| You email support about Sudoku Shogun | Your email address, your message and any attachments, such as a screenshot or a backup file. | Answering you and looking into the problem. Legitimate interest: you contact us yourself and expect an answer, and there is no contract with players of the free game. | Six months after your question has been resolved. |
| You email us about something else | Your email address, your message and any attachments. | Answering you. If you ask about working together, we take steps at your request before a possible agreement (contract). Otherwise legitimate interest. | Twelve months after the conversation has ended. |
| We do business with you | Name, address and invoice or payment details needed for our financial records. | Keeping the financial records the law requires. Legal obligation. | The statutory period, usually seven years; longer only where the law requires it. |
| A complaint or dispute | Only the messages and documents needed to deal with the matter. | Handling the matter and establishing, exercising or defending legal claims. Legitimate interest, and legal obligation where the law requires keeping records. | As long as needed for the matter, then deleted. |
You are never required to give us information, but we cannot answer an email without your address. We do not use automated decision-making.
Deleting emails
When a retention period ends we delete the message, including copies in the mailboxes we use and attachments we saved elsewhere. Deleted messages stay in Google’s Trash for up to 30 days; Google then removes them from its systems on its own schedule (for Google Workspace within a maximum of 180 days).
Messages sent to the older Sudoku Shogun address shogunsudoku@gmail.com are forwarded to us, and a copy remains in that Gmail mailbox. Both copies follow the same periods. That mailbox is a regular Google account, so Google processes it under its own privacy policy.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not set cookies and has no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. It has no contact form. Fonts and images are served from the website itself and the pages do not load content from other companies.
